Statutory Accounting Lead - Chichester, UK Working in the Finance team based in Chichester, this position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with the various global teams. Position would be responsible for managing relevant UK and non-UK Statutory audits and filing requirements with some financial accounting responsibilities of overseas subsidiaries related to month end deadlines. The role would be responsible for the completion of KPI's and dashboard reporting to Senior Management on status of Statutory filings. Overall, the position should focus on ensuring accurate accounting treatment, evaluating internal controls, ensure Statutory deadlines are maintained and establishing efficient close processes Key responsibilities: In this role you will be responsible for: * For entities within the control of the role, completion of UK and non-UK statutory accounts under IFRS or local GAAP and completion of UK worldwide group consolidation. * Support Senior Management on new Acquisitions to integrate into the Statutory Reporting and Accounting structure * Management of the Compliance team of 3 direct reports. * Accounting and reporting for relevant overseas subsidiaries, ensuring timely month end reporting and quarterly variance analysis. * Provide support to Internal Audit team on Sarbanes Oxley and local business support for the EMEA group. * Coordinate year end and quarterly audits by External Audit. Skills required: * Qualified or Newly Qualified ICAEW or ACCA * 2+ years' experience practice/auditing experience * Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial statement analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience in leading a team. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally. * Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and escalate or resolve issues appropriately with proven ability to meet financial deadlines * Experience with SAP is desirable but not essential * Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel * Working knowledge in both written and verbal French language would be desirable but not essential Benefits Wiley offers compensation and benefits that are competitive, equitable, and meet the needs of our diverse workforce.
