We are holding an Assessment and recruitment Day on the This is a wonderful time to join the elderly care team on Oak, Ash, Aspen and Elm wards at University Hospital Lewisham where the patients and carers are at the heart of everything we do. Oak Ward Oak ward has 28 beds with a speciality in providing care for patients with Dementia, delirium and cognitive impairment. Working on Oak ward gives you the opportunity to develop your skills in dementia care, assessment skills, end of life care and general nursing care. Ash Ward Ash ward has 18 beds consisting of 4 bays each with 4 beds and 2 side rooms. Whilst working on Ash ward there will be opportunities to develop new skills in relation to older person's frailty, dementia and long term conditions including pressure ulcers, falls and complex discharge planning. Aspen Ward Aspen ward is a new unit with a big future where you will have the opportunity to develop your elderly care skills as well as dementia awareness and palliative care. We have recently recruited an extremely talented Ward Sister who is helping to shape the unit to improve patient experience. Elm Ward Elm ward is an acute elderly and orthogeriatric ward where you will have the chance to develop new skills in relation to older persons frailty, dementia, long term conditions including pressure ulcers, falls, complex discharge planning as well as using these skills when caring for pre and post-operative fracture neck of femur patients on the care pathway. You will be part of an upbeat dynamic team bringing energy and a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork in supporting our elderly patients. You will receive an annual Individual Performance Review by your line manager to help facilitate your development. We support staff with post registration courses relevant to their field of practice at Greenwich and Kings College Universities. In addition, to further support you in your role, the Trust can also offer accredited leadership and management training: Level 5 - Extended Diploma in Management and Leadership.
