The Transport manager will operate a compliant fleet that is cost effective and provides a quality service. The Biffa division you'll be supporting. With 3,391 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain. Why it's an opportunity not to be wasted. * Ensuring that the transport operation is fully compliant with legislative requirements. Including internal audits on the workshop, Driver paperwork/tacho checks and correct filing. * Working with the Operations Team, depot DBT(Depot Based Trainer) and Recuritment to oversee the recruitment, induction, training and management of all drivers to ensure full cover is provided. * Liaising with the fleet department and suppliers to ensure that vehicles are maintained in accordance with the terms of our O Licence, manufacturer's recommendations and to ensure safe operation at all times. * Ensuring the compliance with FTA guidelines, e.g. TACOs, Driver Infringements etc. * Engaging with Drivers to provide guidance and if required notices for non-compliance. * Liaising with each site and the supervisors on a daily basis to plan for the efficient running of the operations - Waste Transfer Site, Household Waste Recycling Centres & the waste collection service. * Providing guidance on any legislative changes to Supervisors & Management * Ensuring CPC Training is co-ordinated, including booking arrangements. * Maintaining the client relationships are ensuring that all KPIs that are transport related are met and exceeded. * Produce monthly contract performance reports and data to the client. * Ensuring the health and safety of all company employees and site visitors under their control in line with the company's procedures and the Health and Safety at Work Act. * Ensuring that all Company Fleet Compliance policies and procedures, Balanced Business Plans and legal obligations are adhered to and understood by all contracts staff.
