Job Title: Transport Operations Manager Location: Lutterworth Reporting to: Transport Manager Company Overview Part of the Culina Group, Great Bear is the flexible, agile ambient 3PL alternative. Job Purpose As the Transport Operations Manager you will be responsible for the 24/7 Transport operations, managing the Transport Team and supporting the Transport Manager in ensuring that costs are controlled in line with budget / forecast expectations. The role holder will be responsible for but not limited to the following: * Managing the Depot Transport staff to deliver efficient Traffic plans to enable delivery of products to customers within agreed service levels. * Reducing non contract maintenance and damage spends through the use of vehicle passports, daily confirmation of spend, in conjunction with other Great Bear depots. * Ensuring all Fleet is utilised to the maximum capacity. * Carrying out frequent audits and managing the workload of staff. * Motivating and developing the team through the use of personal development plans. * Ensuring all staff are fully trained and have the correct equipment. * Ensuring that the Transport team comply with all relevant statutes and regulations. * Communicating with 3rd Party hauliers in regards to monitoring and controlling all reported defects. * Checking and approving maintenance related invoices. * Ensuring annual MOTs and weekly services on all fleet equipment are carried out on time. * Monitoring Audit and Control suppliers. * Attending Monthly Customer review meetings. * All tasks that the Contract Manager delegates to the team * Communicating throughout departments, ensuring that team briefings include KPIs for staff accountability. * Proposing, agreeing and implementing service improvements with customers in conjunction with other areas of the business * Generating and implementing ideas with regards to staff and operational changes, which will help drive continuous improvement. * Ensuring a secure and safe environment for staff, both in your department and across the wider business. * Maintaining and monitoring the Transport Budget, to include various KPI's and costs. * Supporting the company in regards to reducing its carbon footprint, for example reducing road miles.
