Job Description
This is an opportunity to work within the offshore energy industry with a leading subsea technology business that delivers ROV projects by advancing the state of the art in subsea vision, AI and autonomy technology. Rovco is looking to recruit an experienced permanent Leopard ROV Superintendent (on a temp-to-perm basis) to join our team to manage ROV operations both on and offshore (expectation of 50/50 split). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of flying and maintenance of Seaeye Leopard ROVs. An important part of the role will be to assist the project team during the early stages of project planning such as creating the task plan, writing ROV procedures, providing additional support during project ramp-up phase along with the execution of ROV Operations in accordance with the project requirements that exceed clients expectations. Leopard ROV Superintendent: Temp to Perm Start date: Immediate start Rates: Onshore 300 per day Offshore 475-525 per day (negotiable based on experience/qualifications) Benefits: 250 on travel days (if the journey takes less than 10 hours to travel) Duration: 3 months with 3-month extension / permanent opportunity OR 75k-85k annual salary incl. offshore allowance The Superintendent will be responsible for the safe operation of the ROV to conduct the required tasks detailed in the Project work scope and have overall responsibility for the offshore operation, maintenance, and repair of the ROV and ancillary equipment. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records, prepare formal procedures and explain and delegate operational tasks to team and vessel crew members, as well as being responsible for managing the mobilisation and demobilisation activities. Requirements The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: * Represent ROV operational team and liaise as required with client on site. * Assist project team during early phases of project development as/when required * Attend company office to support preparation or repair work on assigned ROV system prior to or on completion of offshore operations. * Hold regular meetings as required prior to operations to ensure that all ROV and vessel crew understand the purpose of the operation and delivery plan. * Ensure familiarity with project documentation * Ensure that ROV Operations are executed within the constraints of the ROV operational and safety procedures * The implementation of risk assessment and FMEA reviews * Overall responsibility for the offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the ROV and ancillary equipment. * Creation and transmission of daily and weekly reports including daily logs, personnel timesheets, weekly safety/technical/status reports. * Ensuring the ROV system is maintained and repaired. * Taking ownership of all equipment and spares maintenance including inventory planning for upcoming projects * Carrying out general ROV duties as required. Required Skills and Experience: Extensive experience of flying and maintenance of Seaeye Leopard ROVs 7+ years hands-on, in-depth experience in ROV inspections and / or hydrographic surveys. Experience within the offshore renewables / oil & gas / subsea industry as a ROV Superintendent / ROV Manager or equivalent. A good understanding of survey principles and marine survey techniques in relation to positioning and ROV Inspections. Ability to recognise and head off issues before they become problems. Previous experience managing subsea operations with multiple ROV systems. Management / Supervisory experience or the ability to lead, motivate and inspire teams. An effective communicator with a proactive and supportive attitude. Able to manage challenging situations and make decisions under pressure.
