Job Description
THE ROLE I am seeking a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join a go-ahead firm of consultants in the construction industry in their Maidenhead, Berkshire office. Projects are varied and are mainly in the commercial sector although there could be schemes for some public sector clients too. My client seeks MRICS qualified candidates but may consider someone approaching APC with a background of working for another firm of consultants with around five years experience. THE COMPANY My client is a large firm of construction consultants offering clients a range of services including Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building Surveying, Architecture and more. They have a number of UK offices and are starting to expand abroad. They work for known clients in the private and public sectors on a range of building projects. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor or approaching APC with around five years experience. You will need experience of all pre and post contract work including producing cost plans, cost reports, managing risk processes and Value Management. You will also track document changes and prepare formal project progress reports etc. You should be working for another firm of consultants. You must be able to run your own projects from inception to completion. Experience of being able to further develop relationships with clients. You must have good communication skills, both written and spoken, be able to handle projects without supervision including running meetings and dealing with clients. Salary is very negotiable plus a range of benefits including car allowance, pension, discretionary bonus, BUPA, life insurance, RICS fees.
