Citi enables clients to achieve their strategic financial objectives by providing them with cutting-edge ideas, best-in-class products and solutions, and unparalleled access to capital and liquidity. **Role Overview:** An opportunity has arisen in the Belfast Markets Legal Department for a prominent team lead managerial role supporting a specific business within Citi's Institutional Client Group. This role will involve working closely with Citi's external clients as well as the Sales, EMEA and Global Product Heads for the respective business line and Citi Product Legal Counsel in negotiating, reviewing and analysing legal documentation whilst responsible for overseeing and advising the team of negotiators in drafting, negotiating, co-ordinating, implementing and execution of a variety of Master Trading Documentation including, but not limited to, ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Account Control Agreements, Side Letters, amendments and ancillary documentation across a wide range of counterparty types, and in compliance with Citi's policies and procedures. The successful candidate must also participate in the development and implementation of key processes and controls when documenting new clients, addressing governance / control issues when they arise and escalating to senior legal where appropriate. The position will require an awareness of the impact of core regulation on the derivatives markets and underlying documentation. The successful individual will work closely with the team on reviewing/negotiating a broad range of standard legal agreements but must also be comfortable to use bespoke documentation structures. **Key Responsibilities:** The position will involve a number of responsibilities including but not limited to: + Formal leadership role with managerial responsibility for a team of negotiation staff as well as supporting the wider Markets team on BAU on a day to day basis in conjunction with mentoring and providing support to junior colleagues. + Act as the Legal Relationship Manager for platinum clients which are serviced by members of the team to ensure that all deliverables are met and quality/service levels are maintained at all times. + Act as the key escalation point for all matters flagged by the team. + Identify and close training or knowledge gaps observed within the team in order to improve the team's effectiveness. + Overseeing the day to day performance of the team, achieving individual and team productivity targets, time management and ensuring document lodgement is completed promptly and in line with Markets Legal documentation procedures. + Ensure MAMs comments are updated with respect to all open matters with the team and SLAs are adhered to. + Provide dedicated support to senior legal to ensure all BAU activities are completed accurately and to the highest standard. + Attend scheduled meetings with key business and legal stakeholders to ensure effective and open communication at all times. + Convey strong commercial awareness and understanding of the desk's priorities by ensuring prioritisation of file load is aligned with the overall desk goals. + Work closely with Product Legal, Sales and Relationship Managers, Product head and Business Unit Managers to exceed customer expectations and ensure documentation is in place ahead of regulatory or business deadlines, where required. + Ensure Citi's internal and regulatory policies are maintained, and where deviations are necessary, ensuring appropriate risk and / or business approvals are obtained. + Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements, through liaising with internal stakeholders such as Risk, Client Risk Facilitation, Client Onboarding, Regulatory Reform, CVA, Operations and Legal. + Provide formal training sessions where required to Belfast Markets Legal team and supporting functions (including Client Onboarding). + Ensure key governance and control checks are implemented during documentation process; proactively identify and escalate issues within the relevant business. + Identify inefficiencies / bottle necks in onboarding and documentation process. Liaise with key stakeholders to provide solutions and implement changes that will enhance client service and ensure that all enhancements and changes to process and procedures are fully documented with full traceability of all project implementation for audit purposes and within the specified timeframe.
