Solutions Engineers (SE's) are an integral part of the sales cycle, collaborating with their sales partners to expand the breadth and depth of Akamai services adoption, ensuring growth and overall revenue retention. SE's are self-directed, capable of leading technical sales activities, managing customer technical relationships and delivering on value confirmation tasks. **Work with cutting-edge technology** As a Solutions Engineer, you'll be a trusted advisor to our high value Web Performance and Security customers. You'll collaborate across teams to address customer problems and maximize partnership value to support their business needs. In this varied role your relationship skills and thought leadership will build customer product adoption, satisfaction and retention. As a Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for: + Driving revenues and bookings by managing the technical pre-sales process and evangelizing Akamai's technology to existing and prospective customers, and to drive new product and service offerings + Creating and leading sales opportunities through technical demonstrations, customer analysis reports and proof of concepts + Showing high standards of technical thought leadership with customers through activities such as consultation, presentation, technical evaluations, objection handling or general supportive discussion + Designing solutions for customer's business requirements using Akamai services + Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Akamai's current competitive landscape + Complying with pre-sales processes, including account activity tracking to drive business analysis and reporting + Travel to support pre-sales activities at customer locations or Industry events when necessary **Do what you love** To be successful in this role you will: + Have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university + Technical pre-sales / sales engineering, consulting, or similar customer facing role experience + Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical and business related subjects to all audiences + Have knowledge of Internet technologies, Security solutions (WAF, DDoS protection), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Cloud technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP / HTTPS, Web architecture and design + Demonstrated problem solving skills, drive for results, interpersonal savvy, and customer focus **Work in a way that works for you** We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
