BACKGROUND: AXIS is a global insurer and reinsurer focused on specialty lines and treaty reinsurance. AXIS is headquartered in Bermuda and operates in North America, EMEA, Asia, and Global Markets (including Lloyd's). The Risk Funding Finance and Operations function is responsible for delivering a strategic and forward-looking organization that will: * Advance the Company's growth and profitability goals through the enablement of the Risk Funding strategy; * Provide clear accountability for outward reinsurance contracts, outwards reinsurance controls and outward reinsurance reporting; and * Drive process excellence and better data and analytics through technological enablement and expanding partnership with Genpact. The Risk Funding Manager (RFM) will report to the Head of Risk Funding Finance and Operations who reports to the Head of Finance, North America. The RFM will manage the run-off activity of s2007 and engage in the global Risk Funding finance and operations activities to ensure timely and accurate operations and reporting. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * S2007 Run-off Operations * Manage administration of the Syndicate reinsurance programs on ELGAR which includes document and workflow management. * Manage premium and loss processing and related activities internally and externally * Manage process and relationship with Enstar for s2007 LPT * Drive offshore support of s2007 operations and integration with group model * Risk Funding global Operations and Reporting * Support ceded reporting to markets to ensure appropriate level of service in line with treaty requirements. * Assist with reinsurance reporting, including monthly or quarterly reports, to internal committees and external Group/legal entity Boards * Manage contractual obligation processing and market communications * Oversight of AXIS LPT/Commutations processing and communications * Operationally assist with managing, administering and researching results in Risk Funding systems - ProCede & calculation databases * Ensure departmental compliance with operational controls including, but not limited to SOX controls * Assist with process and reporting improvements through IT project and process redesign. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Educated to degree level and an internationally recognized accounting qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. CPA, ACA, CPCU) * Ceded reinsurance, retrocession and / or third party capital industry knowledge with operations and reporting experience * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) * Experience with ceded reinsurance and financial systems a plus (ProCede and Oracle/Smartview) KEY PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED: * Highly motivated and organized to drive company initiatives, showing a strong level of accountability, integrity and professionalism * Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure and respond to changing priorities * Team player with ability to collaborate with internal and external customers, understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them * Excellent oral and written communication skills, which will include report writing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. * Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem solvency abilities
