Consultant Radiologist - Paediatrics We are delighted to invite applications for the post of Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Paediatrics to join our Radiology Team at York Trust. We are a dynamic, innovative and supportive department with Radiologists providing acute general and sub specialty Radiology across our Trust sites in York and Scarborough. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our friendly team of 26 consultants, and who will lead the Paediatric imaging service. The Trust employs 25wte Paediatric Consultants who provide both general and a wide variety of subspecialty paediatric services. The successful candidate will lead the imaging department in it's provision of general paediatric ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT,nuclear medicine investigations and MR (mainly CNS and MSK). The York site has facilities to provide MR under GA. As well as forging a strong working relationship with the paediatricians, it is anticipated that they will also create links with the paediatric radiologists in the Leeds Childrens' Hospital , where specialised intensive care, oncological and surgical work is performed. At York Hospital we have two MRI scanners one of which was refitted in 2018, and three CT scanners, all less than five years old. We offer a full range of diagnostic CT examinations and CT interventional procedures. We have 5 general US machines including 2 Philips Epic 5 machines that are less than a year old, 2 Siemans S2000 and 1 GE Voluson E8. At Scarborough Hospital we have one MRI Scanner which was installed in November 2018 and one CT scanner, with approved funding for a second. The Trust has recently had a 40million development approved for ED/Acute admissions at Scarborough Hospital. A business case has recently been accepted to upgrade the 5 US machines at Scarborough to include 2 Philips Epic 5 machines and 3 Canon (I800 and I700) machines. The Trust has recently approved a business case to outsource all Consultant radiologist on call and invest in home work stations for Consultants who wish to undertake some reporting from home. This is supported by the option to provide up to 1 DCC and 1 SPA working from home - to be agreed in line with service requirements as part of the job planning process. We are currently working on the implementation of these initiatives to be instituted over the coming months; we are excited by this opportunity to invest in a sustainable and resilient service. The Directorate provides radiology services across the Trust and is currently in a period of dual site service development. Positions are available to be based at York Hospital or Scarborough Hospital, with a job planned cross site commitment. The Radiology department is committed to teaching. We support Radiology trainees from the Leeds rotation and play an active role in teaching Hull York Medical students. Candidates must have a Medical Degree and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within twelve months of obtaining their CCT (or equivalent) at the time of interview.
