Job Category Bus Intelligence & Management Information Target Openings 1 Job Description Summary Our Business Intelligence team enable us to use data to deliver a competitive advantage and drive business insights. We are looking for an Information Delivery Analyst to join the team to primarily develop information for strategic, planning and operational purposes. This is a great role for someone who enjoys working with a mix of technologies across different business functions and on multiple projects at one time. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Solutions lead, you will be part of a successful team of 10 and work closely with our IT & Service Delivery teams as well as end users. You will help provide creative solutions to a wide range of requirements and work on multiple projects at one time. The following key activities form a core part of your role; + Create proof of concepts to explore new ideas and data sources and validate business value. + Develop business and data transformations rules, applies data profiling and/ or application logic. + Work with the Business Intelligence Solution lead to create high level design documents satisfying the business requirements. + Create specification documents suitable for offshore development to build production ready business intelligence reports and self-service tools. + Define, plan and execute unit and functional / integration testing; complete system testing as appropriate. + Support the transition and production process; develops documentation for all deliverables before moving to production so that it can be supported on ongoing basis. + Create datasets that combine multiple data sources for further analysis by others. + Responsible for consulting with IT in the identification of data sources and/or changes to underlying reporting systems and application enhancements to support reporting requirements. + Conduct root cause analysis of production defects under general supervision. + Demonstrate understanding of overall data models, data relationships, mapping lineage, business and data transformation rules and participates in the creation of data models (e.g. entity design and population). Minimum Qualifications + Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent business experience. + General knowledge and proficiency working with Microsoft Word and Excel. + General knowledge and proficiency working with SQL and Relational Databases. + General knowledge of Information Delivery practices and processes. + General Knowledge: Possesses sufficient knowledge to perform most work in normal situations. Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge To be successful you will need to have an analytical approach to the way you work. You will also: + Have thorough knowledge and experience with Business Intelligence tools and Informational Delivery practices and processes + Have knowledge and experience in using SQL against multiple data sources and in a High level programming language + Have knowledge of Intermediate problem solving and decision-making skills. + Hold a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance, computer science, statistics, MIS or equivalent business experience Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Travelers is an equal opportunity employer.
