Blackstone's equity investment and extensive experience will enable our committed leadership team to accelerate growth in our core business, broaden our service offering and pursue expansion opportunities globally. The exciting investment allows us to also significantly grow our newly developed data and digital multi-channel marketing offering with a global buy and build strategy. PURPOSE OF THE JOB Purpose of this job will be to support the development and delivery of our merchandise and premiums category through the development and delivery of the operational management strategy across the Global business, so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans within set budgets and timescales. Principal focus of this position will be on operational excellence, quality assurance and robust ways of working, implementation of contracts, management of procurement, purchasing and strategic sourcing activities. As the Operational Director, you will balance the delivery of a high quality service to both our internal stakeholders and clients with the need to deliver a cost effective operation that exceeds agreed business plan targets. This will be, at least initially, primarily focused on marketing materials and gifting predominantly in the HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Cafe) space. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES + To work closely with internal teams and clients, delivering commercial expertise, operational excellence, and experience of effectively managing the income streams and profitability for the business. + To manage performance of the departments ensuring targets are met. + To develop, implement and oversee merchandise and premiums best in class processes in line with Global Operations. + To implement and manage clients and internal Quality Assurance processes, including third parties management. + To establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management. + To monitor, measure, and report on activity measurements, operational issues, opportunities and development plans within agreed formats and timescales. + To implement and manage Far East and EMEA vendor base for the category working closely with the internal teams. + To plan, develop, and lead the merchandise and premiums company technology strategy. + To manage and develop staff directly reporting into this position. + To manage and control departmental expenditure and targets within agreed budgets. + To manage budgeting, financial reconciliation, and variance reporting. These will all have to be provided monthly, ensuring all department targets are met. + To manage contract compliance and management. + To conduct risk profiling, analysis and remedy. + To ensure operational excellence and best practice, resulting in sustainable solutions, contract wins and renewals. + To ensure activities are met with and integrated with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: + Minimum of 10 years' experience in the merchandise and premiums / Print Management. + Extensive esperience in marketing materials and gifting, predominantly in the HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Cafe) space. + Extensive experience in European and Chinese sourcing in the merchandise and premiums arena. + High levels of commercial acumen. + Extensive operational leadership experience with the ability to operate within a globally driven environment with a high focus on technical solutions. + Proven experience in managing quality assurance protocols for high risk products. + Proven experience growing and motivating highly functioning teams providing a centre of excellence. + Strong communication and analytical skills. + You will have the strength and experience to set a path for process development and ensure that the global targets, goals and objectives are delivered.
