Procurement Assistant Procurement Assistant role within a leading supply chain business An end to end supply chain solutions organisation headquartered in the north east has created a new role, due to business growth, for a Procurement Assistant. The company is long established, has a superb name in the market and is leading the way across their industry through delivering innovative and seamless supply chain solutions to their customers. The primary purpose to provide pro-active day-to-day support to the procurement team to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all procurement processes, systems and procedures. Your day to day duties will include but isn't exhaustive of: Supporting in the collation of tender documentation Raising of purchase order requisitions Assist Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices where necessary Administration of the new supplier request process Maintain purchasing documents, files and records. Maintenance of various business critical trackers Administration and maintenance of the companies preferred supplier list Recording and reporting functional KPIs and supplier KPIs as applicable Perform general administrative tasks for the purpose of supporting departmental activities Perform other related duties as assigned To be successful in this role you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have strong administrative skills with an eye for detail along with being able to work both supervised and unsupervised at times. Preferably, you will have some procurement experience and an understanding of purchasing processes, however full training will be given so this is not essential. You will possess the ability to prioritise tasks and activities effectively along with being computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications in particular excel and word.
