Technical Systems Leader South Ockendon The purpose of the role is to manage and lead the plants technical team to ensure the safe and efficient running of all the plant’s production equipment and building services. The position will provide the skills, knowledge and vision needed to achieve world class performance in safety and maintenance of the site’s assets. Key Responsibilities : - Owner of site’s Process Reliability monitoring and improvements programme - Evaluate and analyse process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements. - Lead the site’s management team to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance - Lead the deployment of new and changed processes and equipment to provide improved results. - Manage and lead lean & continuous improvement projects on site - Work with Process Engineering to develop the automation strategy and roadmap for the site - Develop the site’s capex budget submissions - Leading plant specific small to medium size projects (up to $500K Capex value). - Leading equipment replacement and new equipment installation - Supporting engineering in Commissioning, Qualification and leads Verification phase of start-ups for big project - Driving Technology Transfer and Training (TT&T) is properly carried out and maintained post project start-up - Working with relevant departments to review and update standard operating procedures and standards documents by incorporating learnings and outcomes of projects - Managing all the plants facilities and utilities (energy, water, waste) and ensures all the sites buildings, equipment and facilities comply with all relevant legislation - Leading plant technical capability development by improvement of technical skills within maintenance and R&M operatives: - Implementing an effective maintenance team structure in the plant - Responsible for finding and training maintenance technicians - Developing and driving technical skills improvement within R&M operatives Experience and Skills: - HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline desirable - Minimum 3 Years Engineering or Lean Management Experience - Project Management / Risk Management - IT skills Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project - PLC or Computer programming knowledge is desirable As a certified Top Employer (UK & Europe) 2020, at CHEP we strive to support and develop our people throughout all touchpoints in our HR journey.
