Overview

Orion Group Life Sciences have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer for our Multinational Medical Devices client based in the West Yorkshire area on an initial 6-month contract. Job Purpose In this role you will provide support on machine maintenance within the operations and R&D departments. You will actively work and own aspects of the current PM schedule and respond to service requests having responsibility to ensure the site remains compliant and asset care is effectively managed. Main Responsibilities of the role In this role you will be responsible for working on machine tool breakdown repairs/service requests and routine scheduled PM's Diagnosing machine faults and pro-actively working on reducing downtime Ensuring compliance to all aspects of the company's Health & Safety, Environmental procedures Supporting the in-house machine safety projects and assessments and championing Health and safety remedial work to update machines as required Supporting third party maintenance contractors or OEM's onsite where required Liaising with suppliers and purchasing team to source spare parts Supporting the in-house manufacturing equipment asset care program. Evaluating and implementing standard methodologies promoting continuous improvement Supporting Process Engineering/NPI projects as required Use of computerised maintenance management system to maintain a log of activities carried out on equipment i.e. hours worked, spare parts used and ensuring work orders are closed in a timely manner Attending daily production and escalation meetings to report on current maintenance issues A flexible approach to working hours support the business needs The site has a culture of continuous improvement, Health and Safety and all-round Quality assurance Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate You will have a recognised mechanical/electrical engineering qualification or proven experience in a diverse and technically challenging manufacturing environment It would be advantageous if you have medical device, pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry, with a period held at a supervisory level Demonstrated experience of working on PM scheduling and maintaining asset care You will be experienced in use of computerised maintenance management system Experience repairing and maintaining of CNC/5 Axis machines Electrical bias preferred Excellent written and oral skills Result driven Teamplayer Able and willing to work in a complex organization with highly detailed rules and regulations medicaldevices medical device 13485 multinational product implant engineering NPI mechanical electrical PM For more information on this role, call Ian Towler on 44 (0) or email for a completely confidential chat about this role and other opportunities using the reference number: 930064 Our role in supporting diversity and inclusion As an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
