Overview

Position: Building Fabric Maintenance Technician Location: Covering the Leeds surrounding Areas Salary: £27,070 company van, fuel card, pension, private healthcare, uniform, ipad, phone, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Full Time and Permanent Hours: 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday On Call: 1 week in every 4 - there is an additional payment of £150 every week you are on call Our client is one of the UK’s leaders in providing innovative construction & engineering solutions for clients within a range of sectors, which include retail, health, education & commercial. As a result of a significant new contract win, they are looking to recruit a Building Fabric Maintenance Technician to work on the maintenance contract with a major food Supermarket retailer. The role will involve carryout out a variety of building fabric maintenance duties in around 20-25 food retail supermarket sites in Leeds and the surrounding area. The vast majority of the sites will all be within less than 1-hour drive of Leeds. Our client is ideally looking for someone who lives in the Leeds area or close by to these areas as this is the centre of the patch of stores. Key accountabilities include: - Undertake planned and reactive maintenance building maintenance / fabric works in accordance with contractual KPI’s. Identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Regional Supervisor of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable alternatives. Advise the store manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the running of the store. Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications. Complete general repairs and maintenance to the supermarket sites as designated by the Contract Manager, e.g. repairs to the building fabric, shelving or point-of-sale signage, plumbing, joinery, changing locks, painting, PAT testing and drainage Maintain accurate time sheets and mileage logs as required. Work with company and their client’s colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times. Candidates background & experience: - Suitable candidates should hold the NVQ levels 2 or 3 (Carpentry & Joinery) qualification (or equivalent) or a similar plumbing qualification It would also be advantageous if candidates were to have experience of drainage works, PAT testing and were BAFE qualified, however this is not essential as full training will be provided The holding of CSCS, SPA, IPAF, PASMA certificates would also be an advantage but again not essential. Good effective communicator Full UK driving licence and flexible to travel on a daily basis. Candidates must be prepared to travel on a daily basis in the Leeds and surrounding area.
