Overview

Excellent opportunity for a Technical Executive with knowledge of Recreational Craft Directive to join the UK's membership organisation which represents the UK Marine sector , including the leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. This role sits within the membership team to provide assistance to the Head of Technical Services in order to provide information and effective lobbying on Recreational Craft issues to support the UK marine industry, to meet members' needs and promote membership of the Association (currently around 1600 member companies). Key responsibilities will include:- Assisting member companies with enquiries. Advising members on regulations. Consulting with member companies and research on key issues. Contributing to the Association's representation on national and international committees. Assisting in the production of the Technical Report and promoting the Association as a centre for excellence. Assisting in updating the Association's website. Delivering workshops and training courses to members and prospective members. Establishing key issues and developing industry response to government and standard-making bodies. Communicating with a number of governmental and non-governmental agencies including the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, The Department for Business, The Canal & River Trust and the Environment Agency. This great role requires someone with a broad-based and sound knowledge of Small Craft Regulations, Standards and Legislation. Sound and broad technical knowledge, particularly but not limited to: Small Craft ISO standards (ideally) Recreational Craft Directive (essential) UK Navigation Authorities and the BSS (Boat Safety Scheme) Team player with personal drive and initiative. Excellent communicator in writing and presentation. Confident networker and capable negotiator at varying levels. Well organised and good project management ability. Able to demonstrate a knowledge of the marine industry represented the Association. IT literate and confident using the suite of Microsoft packages. This is a full-time role (9-5) with the potential for other such hours as may be required to fulfil the duties of the role. You will be based at the company's Headquarters, and there may be an opportunity for flexible working arrangements. Due to the current national situation, the company will conduct virtual interviews.
