Flomatik Network Services are seeking an experienced telecoms focused Telecoms Network Planning Manager to lead, motivate and manage a Telecoms Planning team based throughout the UK. As Network Planning Manager you will have a wealth of experience in all aspects of planning networks including FTTP, RF, civils, fibre and telco. Flomatik Network Services continues to provide planning and design services to a number of UK operators across the UK. To support existing and future growth with key accounts, the Planning Manager will have responsibility for customer engagements for accounts allocated. The focus of team leadership will be to support and direct the Flomatik planning team (consisting of both permanent and contract resources) and to expand the client network into key areas across the UK. The role is remote based anywhere in the UK but the successful candidate must be able to visit our Fort Dunlop site in Birmingham where the majority of the planning teams are based upto 3 days per week. Main outline duties include: Liaising with the client and providing key point of contact and engagement for planning and design activities Managing work volumes (WIP) and priorities in line with business and customer requirements, ensuring prompt and effective distribution of work across the team Day-to-Day management of a Flomatik planning team colleagues Support coaching, development and recruitment initiatives Prioritising and scheduling of all work activities for the team Provide customer invoice details based upon tasks and volumes completed Provide technical assistance to the team across all network disciplines Support and mentor all planners (Network and/or Desktop) including junior and trainee recruits Source, structure and deliver training modules internally Chair and/or attend regular conference calls and meetings with both Flomatik’s internal team and the client Ensure issues, queries and disputes are managed and resolved promptly and professionally Liaison with any local authority agents and any other third parties as part of overall planning responsibilities on behalf of the client Highlight and escalate major design variances to existing and agreed planning standards Flexible approach in dealing with amendments and change requests to planned information Ensure accurate completion of all planned submissions and work is completed on time Responsible for the quality standard of work issued to the client, ensuring all planning packs are technically compliant, fully complete and in line with agreed planning standards Adhere to internal and external, regulatory, operational and compliance procedures Conduct regular operational review meetings with the customers Ensure that the Flomatik Network Services Health and safety policy is adhered to Any other duties which are reasonable to this role Essential Skills, Aptitudes and Understandings required: Minimum of 5 years experience in Access Network Planning Ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team Commercial awareness and ability to identify, develop and grow effective relationships with key stakeholders and client primes A telecoms background coupled with a planning background is essential for this position - you may have worked for one of the major UK Telco Operators, which would be advantageous (BT, Virgin Media, etc.) Access Network FTTH, RF, Civil, and telco Planning experience – including awareness of fibre trunk/backhaul requirements External site survey experience A total awareness and understanding of current health and safety procedure for working in the UK is essential Ability to draw together different technical disciplines Effective communications at all levels including with senior management A calm, agile and positive attitude Ability to resolve disputes quickly, effectively and confidently Attention to detail and accuracy coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude Knowledge of Microsoft Office and being PC literate – additional Flomatik and client specific applications will be required (training provided where necessary) Competent use and understanding of GIS systems What we’ll offer: A competitive salary depending on experience A full induction, regular reviews and 1:1s 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays A Pension with 5% Employer contribution after 3 months service A comprehensive employee benefits package provided through a third-party provider 8.30 – 5.30 hours (Monday – Friday with an hour for lunch) Free parking when in office at the Fort Dunlop site The Process: This is a one stage interview process.
