Flomatik Network Services are seeking experienced Network Planners to work as part of Flomatik’s National Planning Team. Experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individuals are required to join an evolving programme forming an integral part of Flomatik’s client project. You have the opportunity to join one of the UK’s single largest fibre infrastructure programmes The role is home based with regular site visits to undertake and complete technical site and highway surveys. Occasional travel and visits to client and Flomatik offices will be required for meetings and project reviews. Working with the client Planning teams, you will be tasked with creating detailed site and highway planning packs incorporating civil and cabling works to facilitate the integration of key sites onto the client network. Experience in PoP, Exchange and Telecoms environments is essential as well as customer site and business planning. The preferred candidates will be experienced in GIS technologies, PIA and ideally will have worked with UK Operators such as BTOR, Virgin Media, CityFibre, Hyperoptic, etc. Armed with an outgoing and friendly attitude you will be expected to engage and interact with the Flomatik team, Flomatik’s client and the general public. Main Outline Duties and Person Requirement: Network Planning Technical client and PoP site survey of existing network infrastructure Flexible approach in dealing with planning requirements Ensure accurate completion of all survey submissions in a timely manner Investigating duct connectivity, routing, chambers on the client and BTOR infrastructure (PIA) Extensive experience required in fibre cabling methods and standards including analysing and reporting on test results Liaise and interface in a professional manner with client teams and representatives on Flomatik’s behalf On-site cabling solutions in commercial and technical telecom properties Civils construction costing and planning packs Cabling and splicing costing and planning packs Detailed Network Site Planning capturing all required information and data through mark-ups and photographs Cabling and construction work on third party/customer premises Collation of detailed packs sufficient for Wayleave approval Buddying and support for new planners Confirm accuracy and validity of client supplied data GIS GIS literate with experience of using GIS and map inventory systems Addition of new civils and cabling Amending existing network based on confirmed survey data Collation of through splicing and as-built data Route Map production Accreditations required: CSCS NRSWA Working at Heights RF Awareness PIA Accredited General responsibilities and behaviours Scheduling and prioritisation of planning work activities Progress reporting on planning work activities Owning, executing and delivering planning requirements Creation of detailed job pack for build - delivering cost savings against physical specifications. Good understanding of requirements for creation of build job packs - including all accompanying documentation for utility stats, street gazetteer, detailed network plans with work point instructions, CDM, Bills of Material etc Liaison with any local authority agents and any other third parties as part of overall planning role Highlight and escalate major design variances to the Planning Lead Flexible approach in dealing with amendments to planned information Ensure accurate completion of all planned submissions and work is completed on time Become proficient to highlight and escalate major design variances through the project team Typical personal attributes (skills, aptitude and understandings) to include: Business Network Planning experience Civils Planning experience Typical telecom network topologies Proven track record of planning successful projects A telecoms background coupled with a planning background is required for this position Attention to detail and accuracy coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude Previous use of GIS systems is essential – Gcomms, GDesigner, QGIS, Smallworld, AutoCad Ability to draw together different technical disciplines Able to communicate with people across multiple locations and at different levels Able to identify and work with key stakeholders inside and outside of the business A total awareness and understanding of current health and safety procedures for working in the UK is essential Knowledge of Microsoft Office and being PC literate – additional Flomatik and client specific applications will be required (training can be provided where necessary) – MS Excel For Permanent Here's what we'll offer: A competitive salary depending on experience Planner incentive bonus A full induction, regular reviews and 1:1s 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays A Pension with 5% Employer contribution after 3 months service A comprehensive employee benefits package provided through a third-party provider 8.30 – 5.30 hours (Monday – Friday with an hour for lunch) Free parking when visiting our offices For Contract Here's what we'll offer: A competitive price based on deliverables through one of our recommended umbrella companies The Process: This is a one stage interview process.
