Overview

Our client is a high quality, friendly, further education establishment whose campus is based in the centre of the historic city of York. Due to a special project our client has requested that Adecco recruit for a Temporary HR Administrator. The purpose of the temporary HR Administrator is to support the Human Resources and Resourcing and Onboarding team to deliver a professional and customer focused service To provide key administrative support across a wide range of different activities, supporting different areas of the team as required working along an existing team of administrative staff Provide a welcoming service for the HR department and ensuring efficient HR administrative systems and procedures are in operation to support the University's contractual relationship with its employees, applicants and new starters. Monitor the HR email inbox, taking responsibility for responding to standard queries and requests for information and acting as a triage to refer more complex issues and queries to the correct member of the HR team Process the paperwork associated with contractual arrangements, such as actioning variations to terms of employment, and processing resignations and retirements. Liaising with payroll regarding the administration of occupational pension schemes, ensuring changes to information are communicated and actioned appropriately including pension re-enrolment. Ensure recruitment processes, including recruitment, appointment requests and shortlisting approvals are carried out in accordance with procedures, escalating to the Resourcing and Onboarding Officer or Manager as required. Take responsibility for the administration of new starters, ensuring the appropriate pre-employment checks are carried out, including pre-employment health questionnaires, references received, DBS checks and Right to work in the UK checks. The successful HR Administrator will have previous administration experience, preferably with HR. Be IT confident in all MS Office, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build business relationships, be detail orientated and methodical and have a positive and resilient personality with "Can Do" attitude.
