An exciting opportunity has arisen for a COURIER MANAGER in Field Operations. Based out of our clients busy SHEFFIELD site, in this fast-paced role they will give you the flexibility and autonomy to think both creatively and commercially to manage your area, ensuring all deliveries run smoothly. The UK's largest home delivery courier network, our client deliver more than 190 million items a year on behalf of the biggest names in retail. Their 10,000 hard working lifestyle Couriers make this happen and provide a high quality doorstep service, with their Field Managers supporting and inspiring them along the way. Field-based, you'll be on hand to ensure all couriers in your area fulfil their orders for the day. Regularly meeting with local couriers and the depot manager, you'll look to you to improve processes and make sure everything runs smoothly. You'll solve problems, recruit your team and provide back-up cover in case of illness and holidays. With the support of the clients centralised network mapping team, you'll produce reports and help develop the most efficient, cost-effective routes. This role comes with a company car and a bonus of up to £6k. It will be up to you to make sure the client keep their promises and deliver packages to set client contracts. While some logistics, customer service or management experience would be great, we're more interested in your ability to make quick decisions, think on your feet and prioritise your own busy workload. The ability to work autonomously is key. Training will be given and your Regional Manager will offer you support, but you won't be given a list of tasks for the day. That's down to you, and they look for candidates that relish this autonomy and thrive in a pressurised, competitive environment where your decisions count, and in turn you are rewarded with a bonus for successfully hitting targets. Successful candidates MUST have experience managing some form of FIELD OPERATIONS, ideally within TRANSPORT and LOGISTICS.
