Overview
A leading global organisation is looking to recruit a senior / manager level Legal Counsel to help lead its fantastic in-house legal team. Based in Birmingham, this full-time and permanent In-House Counsel role is ideal for a Commercial Lawyer with at least 4 years of PQE. Your New Role As the new Legal Counsel, you will provide dedicated legal support to the business and support a diverse client portfolio. You will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping their clients solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities of the In-House Counsel include: Proactively assisting in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above Managing complex negotiations using sound judgment to ensure that the organisations interests are served Negotiating deals for consulting services projects, and the development, licensing and other forms of commercial exploitation of intellectual property Negotiating, drafting and supporting on a broad range of commercial contracts including technology agreements, Distribution, Logistics and Licensing Agreements, General Service Agreements, Regulatory Agreements and NDAs Providing legal advice and guidance to the wider business on ad hoc legal issues and business projects Active involvement in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients Developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges Assisting in the management and delivering of large projects About You This role will suit a dynamic and proactive Commercial Lawyer looking for their first in-house role or already in-house and looking for their next challenge. Applications to the Legal Counsel vacancy should also demonstrate: Training and qualification at a top City Law firm or a highly regarded in house organisation 4 years of PQE advising on Commercial Contracts Experience of GDPR is beneficial The ability to tailor advice to the specific needs of the business and apply common sense and practical solutions in a fast-moving environment with new challenges arising every day Salary In return, the In-House Counsel will be entitled to a salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum , dependent on experience, plus excellent training and support .
