Overview

Our Client is a chemical supplier to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking a General Manager . This position will be based in Perth, Scotland and is a full-time permanent role. Job Purpose The General Manager will be responsible for leading and motivating employees to successfully expand the business capability, customer experience (CX), financial outcome and staff engagement. This includes ensuring effective management of sales, purchasing, stock control, operations, transport, human resources, health & safety, strategy and planning. All in compliance with QHSE, Legal and company procedures and delivery of budgets Key Responsibilities Ensuring compliance with site Safety Management Systems and with all legislative and legal aspects across the site Plan, agree, deliver and monitor targets, cash flow, capex plans and budgets Organise and control the effective supervision and control of all key activities within the site against the targets set Provide guidance and leadership to the sales and commercial functions, supporting the site sales manager, group sales and business managers to maximise opportunities and profit for the Perth site Ensure the regular monitor and delivery of customer service and CX targets Provide guidance and leadership on Service Excellence as it related to the Perth site through employee participation, project implementation, culture and customer interface Regularly report on results, agree and ensure remediable action where required (e.g. weekly flash, monthly accounts, quarterly reviews, annual budgets and projections.) People management in terms of ensuring the implementation of adequate resourcing, performance management, communication and development of staff Ensure through the Operations Manager / team that the site operates within cost targets, company policy and legal requirements at all times Ensure that the site operates within the stated company quality assurance / compliance procedures, and complies with industry regulatory / professional body legislation Qualifications and Experience Degree or similar in Business, Marketing, Chemistry or related subjects IOSH / NEBOSH Experience in a similar site Leadership / Management role (ideally within the chemical industry). Managing a large team with responsibility for all aspects such as Operations, Sales and Logistics Change management initiatives Delivering high level of Customer Service / Experience Sales and marketing Logistics and warehousing Microsoft Office Use of transactional ERP systems and analytics Proven track record in providing effective results oriented leadership A developed business acumen and capability for strategic thinking and planning to create exceptional results Manage people through effective appraisal, training and discipline and grievance procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to continuous improvement Ability to engage, inspire and influence In return, our Client is offering a competitive basic salary plus benefits including Company Car and a generous Bonus Scheme To apply for the above position, please send your C.V to Lorraine Roger, Director at Atom Recruitment Ltd.
