Transport Operator Apprentice Location: Spalding Hours: Flexibility is required - regular night shifts will be undertaken Assessment day: Early April 2020 Start date: Late April 2020 At Fowler Welch, we have a number of fantastic opportunities for you to kick-start your career in Logistics. During our 12 month programme, you will be working towards becoming a fully-fledged member of our growing Transport team through work shadowing, ‘hands-on’ training and computer-based learning. You will learn how to plan the effective utilisation of drivers and vehicles to ensure that products are collected from our suppliers and delivered to our customers, both safely and on time. You will get to grips with Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph and Working Time legislation and will learn how to ensure that our vehicles are legally compliant and that all relevant information is recorded correctly. We also have an LGV Driver (Class 1) Apprenticeship available at Spalding - please feel free to check this out Throughout the scheme, you will have the full support and guidance of fellow colleagues, trainers and our dedicated Apprenticeship Manager to help you grow and develop into an outstanding Logistics professional. WHAT DO YOU NEED? We are looking for enthusiastic, determined individuals who are interested in a career in Logistics. Having a ‘can-do’ attitude and an appreciation of customer service are important qualities for us, as they allow us to continually delight our customers. Being an excellent team player is also vital at Fowler Welch, and the ability to communicate effectively with your colleagues will be an important part of the role. We do require you to be flexible with your working hours in order to experience all aspects of the role and learn from a variety of our colleagues. For safety purposes, we do require our apprentices to have a satisfactory medical assessment. WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU? On successful completion of the scheme, you will have achieved a nationally recognised Level 2 Apprenticeship and will have secured a permanent position with us.
