We have separate paediatric and adult intensive care units (ICUs), and our paediatric ICU is the largest private facility in Europe, with 18 beds. This allows us to support cardiology, cardiac, thoracic, cancer, spinal and other major treatments for children. We have 103 beds in total, including nine adult ICU beds offering the highest level of one-to-one care. As a Staff Nurse you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the Cardiac team and to participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain agreed standards of care. This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week – this includes flexibility with regards to working hours. The attractive and competitive salary for this role starts at £32,270 - £35,855 and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of nursing care for cardiac patients. Working within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for the Sister in their absence. Acting as a clinical role model for all members of staff, driving high standards of care and assisting with coaching and development of the team. Contributing to research based care and other practice development initiatives. Recording and interpreting ECG as well as care for patients with chest drains, Epidural PCA and Femoral sheath removal. Skills & Experience Registered General Nurse with full NMC registration. Experience in the field of Cardiology/Cardiothoracic surgery. Ability to recognise cardiac rhythms. Excellent communication skills with good time management skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
