The Position We are looking for an experienced Senior Category Manager with exceptional relationship management, influencing, negotiation and communication skills for this role. You will be the leader of IT & Digital, delivering the solutions for our organisation and our clients and based at NHS SBS Procurement Centre of Excellence in Salford. Key Responsibilities Managing a portfolio of projects Work closely with key stakeholders to influence procurement choice, aiming to drive costs down and quality and service up Negotiate the relevant framework agreements with the supplier base ensuring that all aspects are covered within the category from a product and stakeholder basis Ensure provision of a service that is sensitive, responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the users, balanced against cost effectiveness Ensure uptake of the framework agreements across the wider public sector and work alongside the Innovation and Implementation teams Provide a strong and effective professional management focus leading to the achievement of locally agreed targets, efficiencies and added value initiatives Essential Skills IT & Digital procurement specialist at a strategic level Significant public sector procurement experience with a working knowledge of EU procurement rules and legislation Membership of CIPS or equivalent Strategic thinker who can translate strategy into implementation Commercially astute in relation to our growth targets regarding uptake of our framework agreements Marketing exposure with varying media output to ensure utilisation of our frameworks (Desirable) Even more reasons to apply Office situated close to Salford Quays - Great transport links to and from Manchester Onsite park parking available Apply for a NHS Blue light card - take advantage of the huge number of online and high street discounts available Community friendly - Really goes all out to raise money for a number of local and national charities We ensure our working environment is supportive and collaborative, everyone has a voice and all opinions count Sustainability is really important to us, in fact we are within the top 1% of companies worldwide tackling climate change and managing our emissions Find out more Visit the NHS SBS website and the NHS SBS LinkedIn company page.
