This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer who is looking to embark upon a long term career opportunity within a supportive business. The role: Agree the specification and modifications of new product development with Line Manager Work closely with suppliers to improve quality, cost and delivery performance. Ensure that our products are robust, cost effective and fit for purpose. Ensure all modifications and new designs are correctly documented and use Creo to create clear, concise and accurate models and design drawings, working with and leading Project Engineers and Draftsmen activities Support the procurement and manufacturing teams with any technical issues associated with the supply and manufacture of modified systems. Undertake engineering design calculations using both hand calculation, design guides, FEA and CFD Plan own work, in conjunction with the Line Manager. Decide priorities to ensure that the various project milestones/deadlines are met. Maintain an awareness of developments in system components and controls to ensure that products remain up to date. Skills and experience: Strong experience within a similar Design Engineer role in a Product Design environment Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering Good practical mechanical knowledge Good knowledge of mechanical components and systems (i.e. pumps, engines, cooling systems, support structures, generators, lifting systems) and their specification A willingness to work towards Chartered Status (if not already obtained) Excellent written & verbal communication Collaborative and team-focussed individual Desire to grow and progress within a world-renowned organisation In return you can expect a very competitive salary excellent flexible benefits package and to play a key role in the development of the company's future success, with many progression opportunities.
