Overview

Role purpose The role of the Head of Technology Change is to ensure that all change initiatives within technology are understood, risk minimised, controlled and communicated. This role has 3 main components; Continuous Improvement, Project & Programme Delivery and Governance & Compliance. In addition, Risk Management plays a vital role in the change programme and reviewing principal risks and managing risks will be a key responsibility. All changes that impact Technology will be reported and managed through this role. This role is required to support all our Huntswood offices and will require some UK travel. Job description Documenting and maintaining the Change Management Policy and Procedures for Technology Responsibility and accountability for project budgets ensuring appropriate resourcing is in place to deliver the project Leading and developing the Technology Change Team including (but not limited to) recruitment, motivation and performance management Analysis of complex services, covering a diverse range of technologies and 3rd party suppliers, to ensure that proposed request for change (RFC) are fit for purpose, including comprehensive analysis of risk, business impact, backout plans, test plans, resource requirements and availability Manage, review, amend and own all requests for change (RFC) Ownership and maintenance for Technology Change Management Policy & Procedures Develop, own and present on all Technology Change reports Develop, document, enhance and manage the Release Management policy and process Plan and organise a range of acceptance activities to underpin the successful release of software, hardware and configuration changes Manage and monitor release plans, producing detailed timetables of events and action plans Working with internal stakeholders to ensure that the quality of outputs from Technology Change promotes a continuous improvement ethos and that the operating model evolves to reflect this Co-ordinating internal resources to ensure that the requirements of the Technology Change Function are fulfilled, this includes the change management of smaller scale Head office projects, for example automation driven activities Ownership of the Technology Change function, design and delivering the 'Huntswood Way' of managing Technology Change Ensuring that risks identified through the technology change process are identified and controlled Assisting on planning and oversight of all Project Decommissioning for Huntswood Site based projects Revisiting all Request for Change (RFC) to validate scope and ensure that controls remain effective in protecting Huntswood's brand and ensuring client satisfaction Strategic action planning and business planning - driving planned activity and ensuring continued review of the Technology Strategic Goals Strategic planning and awareness of business continuity plans and disaster recovery Implementation of specific client improvement initiatives (such as process improvements) with an aim to strengthen the relationship and clear focus on cost control / cost saving initiatives Developing client collateral from engagements to enhance and continuously improve future business development Any other duties as agreed with the Director of Technology Essential skills The successful applicant will be a results driven, self-starter with strong experience in Change Management and Project Management disciplines Agile / Scrum / SAFe certification Strong verbal communication skills, and an ability to lead stakeholders of all levels in an Agile / Scrum based approach where appropriate Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to engage stakeholders of all levels Strong knowledge of Huntswood's service offerings and knowledge and experience in operating in both sales and client delivery environments Flexibility to be able to work in an environment of continuous change (including priority changes) will be required Broad technology background with breadth of Technology Operations services and projects including: scaling, availability, fault tolerance, scripting, resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, security, automation, orchestration, version management, build & deploy tools Management of appropriate Collaboration tools such as Jira or Microsoft alternatives Ability to document operational policy & procedures Ability to assess and improve operational policy and procedures through continuous improvement methodology A strong investigative nature and logical approach to problem solving Effective time management and organisation skills and keen attention to detail Experience of working to and developing appropriate quality standards and metrics Implementation of specific client improvement initiatives (such as process improvements) with an aim to strengthen the relationship and clear focus on cost control / cost saving initiatives Strong Customer focus and excellent negotiation skills Good understanding of the legal issues relating to Data Protection, Computer Misuse Acts, copyright and intellectual property rights Strong experience of change, managing applications, end user devices, network infrastructure and telecommunications systems in a secure and ISO accredited compliant environment Excellent people management skills and a proven track record in developing a high performing team A proven track record in budget management, including internal and external teams Core behaviours To work with Huntswood's employees are described as dependable, driven and collaborative.
