At the bottom of this role advert, you’ll find more information on why you’ll enjoy working with us… Job Description Overview: • To provide support to senior members of the Team in ensuring that external delegate investment managers manage LFS funds, on behalf of LFS in accordance with contractual obligations and the regulatory requirements of the FCA and other relevant regulators. • To facilitate a robust challenge process of an investment manager where investment outcomes are anomalous when compared to expected norms for a given investment strategy. • Provide investment management and regulatory challenge as part of new product transitions Detail: • Assist in the detailed risk assessment, in conjunction with other members of IMST, of a proposed investment manager delegate, making recommendations to the business acceptance committee on risk issues to be considered prior to deciding whether to enter into a portfolio management agreement. • Undertaking as part of a team required monitoring activity (desktop review of MI, regular meetings and on-site reviews) as appropriate to the risk assessed with that particular investment manager and the funds managed. • Review the risk assessment and monitoring plan on an ongoing basis taking account of changes in the portfolio, changes at the investment firm, market developments, regulatory changes, external information, etc. • Assist in the scheduling, planning and undertaking regular and ongoing due diligence visits to the investment managers in accordance with their relative risk assessment • Maintain monitoring files and documentation in accordance with LFS requirements and standards, including visit reports, working papers and correspondence with investment managers. • Deal with queries from the investment managers, depositaries and auditors • Preparation of regular reporting and presentations to the various Committees on the monitoring plan, issues arising, action taken and escalation of significant matters. • Assess the implications of any new funds, proposed changes proposed to existing funds as part of pre-take on and transition • Maintain relevant regulatory knowledge Qualifications Required: • Sound knowledge of the FCA requirements applying to investment management and an solid understanding of the rules relating to COLL and FUND • A good understanding of the investment management process. • Graduate. • Minimum 5 years in an asset management or equivalent experience obtained via consultancy or regulator Desirable: • Professional qualification - e.g. chartered accountant • IMC Competencies: • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to represent IMST in front of both senior internal management and external portfolio managers • An 'enquiring mind’, with good attention to detail. • Ability to 'think on your feet’ and to think laterally. • Ability to assess risk and place into context • Good judgement required to make recommendations that satisfy required regulatory outcomes • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to deliver within required time frames • Strong team player who seeks to encourage close collaboration across the business and development of individuals • Always seeking to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the overall Team • Ability to utilise applications to derive maximum benefit in efficiency and presentations Additional Information Link Group’s purpose statement 'Together we achieve’ reflects how much we value working together: with each other; with our clients; and with third parties, to help everyone achieve success - both personal and professional We have an ongoing commitment to career progression, training and education as well as a competitive compensation and benefits package that under pins this.
