We are looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to support the Chief Compliance Officer in running
an effective second line compliance function.
Focusing on predominantly non-financial crime compliance, the role holder will cover a broad range
of compliance responsibilities and will be given a ‘blank canvas’ to help build and shape the
compliance function.
The role will initially focus on supporting the building out of the (non-financial crime) compliance
function, followed by assuming responsibility for the day-to-day running of the function.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Participate in the development of the strategy for the performance of the Compliance function
with, including the development of related methodologies, policies, procedures and templates
● The review, and interpretation of regulatory changes
● Provide advice to the business on regulatory and conduct matters
● Submit regulatory returns, to the FCA, and other regulators
● Support the compliance monitoring team, as necessary
● Assist in internal governance matters, including the production of board and committee packs
● Be responsible for the provision of regulatory advice and regulatory training , as applicable.
● Have line management responsibility for a Compliance Assistant.
● Building out and embedding a culture of using data to drive compliance decisions
Your experience and skills
● Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance and working within FCA regulatory framework
ideally with the banking or payments
● A good working knowledge of the regulatory landscape applicable to FCA regulated firms
● Experience in interpretation and implementation of regulatory change within a business
environment.
● Experience preparing information/reports/packs for senior stakeholders
● Proficient understanding FCA rule and legislative requirements, along with AML rules and
regulations
● Strong interpersonal skills and skilled at communicating compliance and regulatory issues to
key stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
● The ability to prioritise own workload, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
● Strong reporting writing and MI compilation skills
● Good people management and team working skills
● Technologically proficient, including the use of Google Suite, Asana, Excel (including pivots
and VLookup) and Jira.
