Transport Planner
Overview
This position would be best suited to an experienced transport planner or engineer, looking to work with one of Europe's leading, interdisciplinary urban planning, environment, mobility and infrastructure design consultancies. The company has delivered a wide variety of projects, and the current workload includes several high-profile projects. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: ·Managing work on projects effectively and efficiently. ·Provide project direction, to ensure technical report quality and budget control. ·Working and interacting with wider multi-disciplinary teams. ·Providing key technical transport consultancy support on projects. ·Preparing technical reports including transport assessments and input to environmental statements to support planning applications. ·Analysing and design for all transport modes, interchange activity and the creation of public realm areas. ·Providing internal and external client interface on projects. ·Business development by supporting existing client care and development. Please apply if you have: ·Have experience in transport planning in the fields of development, cities and strategic planning. ·Have experience in local highway network analysis including junction capacity assessments using software ARCADY/PICADY/JUNCTIONS/LINSIG/TRANSYT. ·Have experience in preliminary junction design. ·Have experience of applying transport design guidance in a cities context (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets, cycle and bus design guidance) along with AutoCAD, AutoTrack and GIS being desirable. ·Have knowledge of planning for walking, cycling, bus operations and public realm enhancements. ·Have experience of UK Town & Country Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment processes including the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and transport input into EIA. ·Have experience of working with multi-disciplinary professional teams including architects, planning, environmental and engineering advisors. ·Possess knowlege of strategic transport modelling and microsimulation techniques. ·Have previous experience contributing to and working on proposals. ·Have some experience with international work (beneficial). ·Work well using your own initiative, under guidance, and as part of a wider team. ·Have excellent written and spoken English. ·Are flexible and adaptable, rising to challenging situations alongside the wider team. ·Have excellent organisational skills with ability to manage own time and workload. ·Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to assist and support team members. ·Are resilient and can cope with conflicting demands and work effectively under pressure, while remaining calm and professional at all times. ·Are an out-of-the box thinker and happy to work in an entrepreneurial environment. ·Have proven commitment to high performance and dedicated to own learning and development. Qualifications/ Experience ·University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography, economics, mathematics). ·A Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as transport planning or highways engineering (desirable). ·Chartered membership (or working towards) a relevant professional institution (e.g. CIHT, ICE, CILT, TPS). ·A high level of IT literacy. ·Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including MS Excel. ·Strong analytical skills. ·Proficient in the use of AutoCAD. ·Proficiency in data collection techniques, data analysis and interpretation.
