Product Manager (Social Care & Education) - £44,632 per annum Your new company Southend Borough Council is a unitary authority based in the heart of the town centre offering traditional seaside living that makes it a great place to live and work. The Council are looking to appoint a IT Product Manager to lead the critical technology platforms that support high visibility Social Care and Education services to the citizen of Southend. Your new role This is an exciting opportunity to join Southend Borough Council; as Product Manager you can influence and shape critical Council Services and drive successful execution. As the representative of the customer you will proactively coordinate product changes and updates and lead the translation of software features into technical requirements. You will be the visionary behind product and strategy; you will collaborate with the Business Partners and Business Stakeholders to translate business requirements into user stories for the development teams to implement to achieve that ultimate vision to drive operational effectiveness. You will be delivering best practice development including sprint planning, ensuring user stories and requirements are developer ready. You will be managing the deliverables of applications to better the customer experience by developing appropriately detailed specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood for the implementation process. You will also need to maintain an up to date understanding of the technology platforms, including current functionality and roadmap. Acting advisor for business stakeholders accordingly. You will need to maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure the platforms are reliable, availability, and that we are getting maximum benefits from the functionality. What you'll need to succeed To be successful you will be customer centric, focused on solving business and user needs. You need to possess a fundamental understanding of end-end customer experience integration and dependencies. You need to have the ability to support the Council's vision especially where it impacts technology. You will have experience implementing and supporting Social Care and Education case management systems most specifically in Liquid Logic and Capita. You will have experience managing vendors, to ensure the Council are getting best value and quality. Including managing relationships, evaluating vendor performance, and managing deliveries of products and services. You will have a good understanding of analysing, mapping and organising data within multiple complex data structures. You will also be confident in developing, supporting and maintaining Extraction, Transformation and Load process (ETL) . To be successful in this position you will have a strong grasp of statutory requirements regarding data and information security Extensive knowledge and experience of SQL, including an in depth knowledge of data schemas and structures.
