Caseworker / Adviser (x 6 vacancies) Roles available to specialise in Employment and Discrimination, Mental Wellbeing, Welfare Rights, and Debt. Who we are Citizens Advice Flintshire (CAF) is a local charity providing advice and assistance to people across Flintshire and North Wales. We are a member of the national Citizens Advice organisation and have had a presence in Flintshire for over 50 years. Our main advice areas include Benefits, Debt, Employment, Housing, Discrimination and Relationships. We pride ourselves on three core values – being inventive, generous and responsible. We have a team of 30 employees and 70 trained volunteers, who operate across three sites in Flintshire (Mold, Holywell and Connah’s Quay), and also at a number of outreach locations across the county and North Wales. During the year 2018/2019, we helped over 6,000 people in Flintshire with over 31,000 problems. We have multiple fixed-term Caseworker contracts available to join us for up to 3 years. Caseworker / Adviser opportunities on offer We know there is still more we can do for our communities and we have big ambitions to develop our service, both in terms of the scope and delivery of our work. Your duties will include, although not be limited to: Contacting referred clients to explore their situation and issues, and decide on their next steps Providing clients with information, advice and, where appropriate, casework services via a variety of methods including face to face, telephone and digital Meeting clients at one of our offices or outreach locations. Mental Wellbeing Caseworkers will be expected to spend most of their time supporting clients in outreach locations including clinical settings such as the Heddfan Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital Acting for the client where necessary, calculating value of claims, negotiating, drafting letters and telephoning Taking responsibility for developing your knowledge within your specified area, and ensuring your knowledge is always up to date What will I need to be considered for these Caseworker / Adviser opportunities? Proven experience providing advice and a high standard of customer service, ideally gained within a contact centre environment Ability to work with minimum supervision within a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and listening skills Keen eye for detail Although not essential, the ability to speak and write in Welsh would be highly advantageous. The salary range for all of these roles starts at £19,554 for trainees, up to £22,462 with the level dependent on experience. All the roles are full time (37.5 hours per week) and your main working days will be Monday to Friday. However you will be required to work occasional evenings/Saturdays. Location: Our three main offices are in Flintshire but you will be expected to occasionally travel to other locations across the county and North Wales.
