Overview
My client is a private residential home based in beautiful grounds in Kent on ancient ruins, it facilitates 57 residents but presently have 53 in place. This is a care home that take great pride in providing full time care for their chosen residents Presently in order to maintain their extremely high standards they are seeking 2-3 full time Fully Qualified Nurses to support the team. Presently they have 2-3 roles mostly day shift which is 7.30 am to 8pm on a 7-day rota on a 4-week rolling contract. Each week there will be a rota so the Nurse will always know in advance their shift pattern unless they chose to swap. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills with a kind caring nature, they must enjoy dealing with the elderly, who are all in relatively good health. My client will carry out a stringent interview for about 3 hours, firstly the candidate will sit a short exam, then a show around and then the interview. This is an amazing beautiful working environment with some wonderful residents. £17.00 PH if they work Overtime its £18.00. SKILLS REQUIRED: Registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Has attained the minimum mandatory training or is willing to work towards achieving all mandatory training within an agreed timescale Additional skills and experiences in management and leadership Has participated in additional training relevant to the role of a nurse. Evidence of post registration training which will be relevant in the provision of care and treatment to the identified resident group. Training in leadership and management You will Participate in the delivery of care to residents on the unit Carry out and document risk assessments and prescribe and take appropriate action to reduce risk and, where possible, improve the welfare of the residents. Develop, review and implement care plans of residents, support junior staff in adhering to, and implementing the care plan, and involve the resident and, if appropriate, their relative in the development, review and implementation of the care plan. Care plans must be reviewed at least six monthly, or more frequently if the condition or the needs of the resident changes sooner Administer medication and other treatments as prescribed or deemed appropriate Report illness, falls and other treatments needs to GP and / or other professionals in a timely manner Monitor the care delivery practices of carer and new junior nursing staff Appropriately document your interventions and monitor the documentation of carer staff to ensure that it is accurate, timely, legible and appropriate to the care provided Monitor the cleaning, health and safety practices and clinical waste management on the unit in order to reduce the risks related to the control and management of infection Work as a champion or lead nurse in identified areas to support the welfare and safety of the residents Manage staff on the unit on a day to day basis to ensure there is adequate staff with appropriate skill and gender mix Accept from junior staff issues of concern about care and welfare of the residents, and inform the unit manager or Manager on call of issues you have identified or have been brought to your attention, including issues related to the safeguarding of residents Participate in the supervision process, including the supervision and training of junior staff Monitor and assist in the ordering of clinical supplies Email:
