Corporate Communications Officer Contract Status: Permanent, Full time Salary: £27,978 - £32,915 per annum plus benefits Location: 23 Portland Place, London W1 Better, safer care for people is at the heart of what we do Join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and help us express a shared identity as one team, so our audiences know who we are and what we stand for. The NMC is here to enable better, safer care. We set the education standards that nurses and midwives across the UK, and nursing associates in England, must achieve to practise. We register more than 700,000 practitioners, operate a revalidation process and, on the rare occasions when care goes wrong, step in to investigate and take action when needed. About the role To support better, safer care, we need our audiences know who we are and what we stand for. That’s why our corporate communications is geared towards helping us express a shared identity as one team. This role is about ensuring that everything we produce reflects our visual and verbal identity. That means supporting us to establish best practice for tone of voice and narrative, develop our visual identity, and deliver accessible corporate communications that leave nobody behind. It also means delivering high-quality newsletters and working on video projects that support our corporate priorities. The World Health Organisation has declared 2020 as the International Year of the Nurse and Year of the Midwife and it’s an exciting time to join the NMC. We’re getting ready to launch our new five-year strategy, aiming to improve people’s health and wellbeing through excellent nursing and midwifery. About you You’ll be a values-driven person who believes in the power of communication to make a positive difference to people. You’ll have some experience of working in a communications role, whether in-house or with an agency. You’ll be looking to develop your career in corporate communications, with a particular interest in corporate identity. You’ll be an excellent writer who understands tone and has experience of writing for different audiences. You’ll also have an eye for great design and a desire to help us achieve the best possible expression of our visual identity. You’ll value teamwork and be driven to succeed as part of a high-performing team.
