To identify and manage medium sized projects in own area of responsibility, or work as part of a larger project team. To stand in for the Process Team Manager during holiday/absence as required. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES Assist in managing the technical and plant related aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality consistent with TALS procedures and targets to achieve continuous improvement and to meet legislative and regulatory compliance. Development of systems to measure key plant technical performance and output quality standards. Identify projects to enhance safety, de-bottleneck and improve technical performance / reduce costs. Assist in co-ordinating problem solving effort requiring technical input. Identify non optimal plant operation (including use of utilities/energy) and work with Console and Field personnel to improve process operation. Contribute to the maintenance plan for an area in terms of assisting in the prioritisation of work to maximise benefit. Anticipate raw sugar quality related problems and reduce their impact Provide guidance to the Shift and Process Team Managers on the most appropriate ways to react to particular process issues. Work with Console Operators to improve the way that operating problems are dealt with. Develop systems to monitor plant performance. Manage medium sized projects (up to £100k). Work as process engineer on larger projects and provide a liaison between projects and production. Update and develop key documentation including process models, P&ID’s, and line lists for example for area of responsibility. DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCES Relevant experience in a large food processing or similar manufacturing operation, to include: Knowledge of safety management systems such as risk assessment, safety auditing, permits to work etc.; Project team experience; ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Educated to degree level, preferably in Chemical Engineering;
