Up to £18.00 Gross per Hour. Support Worker / PA position available on a home care team supporting a 12-year-old boy with complex care and medical needs. Permanent contract. Yes, essential Use of a car? Yes on duty, large vehicle automatic drive Essential: Experience supporting a younger client with complex care needs, swimmer, non-smoker / non-vaper Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: 3 afternoons per week 4.00pm to 10.00pm and Saturdays 10.00am to 6.00pm. Hours/shifts can be split between 2 support workers / PA. About this client/child: Our client Sam is 12 years old and is at the heart of a loving and supportive family; Mum, Dad, and his 3 siblings. Sam has complex care and medical needs, he has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism spectrum condition, sensory processing disorder, and a visual impairment. Sam is mobile however he uses a wheelchair at times when he experiences fatigue and requires support with transfers. Sam is a gamer; he loves to spend time on his computer and he also enjoys baking. Overview of role: Sam is reliant on others to meet all his care needs, you’ll assist with all aspects of his care plan and follow a well-established routine that Sam responds very well to. Follow and implement therapy programmes, facilitate sensory activities and provide practical support for example during meal times. This role is all about building on Sam’s self-esteem, confidence, independence, and developmental skills. You will provide lots of motivation, encouragement and positive reinforcement to ensure Sam is reaching his full potential. Who this job would suit: A positive, personable and energetic support worker / PA with previous experience supporting a young client with complex care needs. Personality fit is extremely important for Sam, he can be very anxious with new faces.
