Overview

Jackson Hogg is currently recruiting for Mechanical Package/Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for design the Mechanical Package Engineer and will have responsibility for Equipment Packages from initial Specification, through Enquiry, Purchase, Detail Design (Vendor and Project Co-ordination), Inspection & Test through to delivery, installation and handover to commissioning. Required tasks and experience in the following: The checking and input into Process Engineering data sheets and schedules. Creation of Technical Specifications in accordance with Design Code & Regulatory (Machinery, ATEX, Pressure Equipment Directive) requirements. Identification of Inspection & Test & Vendor Data Requirements, in co-ordination of the other discipline design, client & regulatory requirements. Identify technically recommended Vendor with justification. Work closely with Procurement & Quality Assurance on Vendor selection and management. Where appropriate organise stage inspections and co-ordinate Factory Inspection Testing including the close out of actions. Give final inspection release to the Vendor for equipment to be shipped. Co-ordinate installation, vendor support & handover to commissioning & qualification. Ensure Vendor Data Requirements are complete and give Procurement clearance to close out stage payments. Ensure Quality Dept & Validation have the correct Vendor Data to compile data packs. Ensure all applicable documentation is available for the CE Technical Files (Machinery & Pressure Equipment Directives). Support the Dept Head in the role across Mechanical & Piping, inc checking and approval of engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions where required and the input into planning estimating and resourcing functions. Compilation of design standards & specifications to current code requirements. Liaise with Bids & Proposals to prepare mechanical cost estimates Cooperate and communicate effectively with project management and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support Ensure workmanship and material standards are achieved in accordance with specifications and conforms with engineering codes and standards and company QA systems and policies. Required skills and experience: Ability to work with the compilation of multi discipline data sheets and technical specifications into Technical Requisitions for Equipment items and packages, for static & rotating machinery. Undertake Technical Bid Analysis including Vendor Clarifications & Deviations, where relevant undertake Vendor visits for audit / inspection purposes (under guidance from Head of Mech Eng). Manage Vendor design and delivery in accordance with the Technical Requisition, coordinating multi discipline review of Vendor documents and giving final approval to manufacture.
