An excellent opportunity within a long standing food manufacturing business undergoing significant development to work alongside a dedicated Management team within the Engineering Structure The role will pay an annual salary of £44,000 - £46,000. Working on a Monday to Friday basis, this role is key in the strategic daily management of a fast moving consumer goods site. Role Purpose: To provide primary leadership to a team of engineers, managing the focus of the allocated engineering team on the agreed priortities. To ensure the best possible resolve is achieved to those issues experience, in order to meet the reliability requirements of the production schedules. To be part of a team providing essential engineering operations whilst maintaining Health & Safety & Food Safety Standards in order to provide maximum manufacturing efficiency at the Leicester site. What you'll be doing: Daily management of the duty engineering team, ensuring self and team adhere to relevant legislative regulations and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Liaise with duty Production FLMs throughout the duty shift to agree the priorities & support RCA's. First line of contact for manufacturing and despatch, reallocating engineering resource to suit changing priorities. Supervise visiting contractors, adhering to the approved contractor process to include possible intermediate inductions. Conduct effective, recorded planned maintenance schedule adherence. Lead & support engineering team to encourage best practice applied throughout scope of engineering activities Work with production team to satisfy Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules. Identify critical spares to best enable rapid breakdown response. Identify and communicate realistic Engineering team training requirements to best suit the site needs. Actively engage in and instigate site improvement projects & participation in Capital Projects. Responsible for the issuing and authorisation of Permits to Work Ensure departmental audit compliance. Support the review of and generation of new Engineering documents e.g. SSOW. Deputise for similar functions with areas of knowledge and responsibility across the department. Lead the site team in electrical and mechanical disciplines. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years Multi-skilled engineering experience. Previous engineering supervisory experience. Knowledge of process equipment and plant. Strong, varied knowledge of PLC control applications. Able to self-manage and prioritise workload to satisfy commitments and meet agreed deadlines. Flexible with hours to meet the business needs. Flexible with ability to manage a number of concurrent priorities. Proven engineering experience and aptitude. Familiar with MS office computer programs . Risk Assessment involvement. Site Permits to Work process. Basic knowledge of RCA process. Pest Control awareness. Effective verbal & written communication skills.
