Overview

Magpie People have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a market leading engineering company based in Sheffield. The role will focus on the hardware design of control systems and associated field equipment which will include PLC’s, VSD’s, safety circuits and intelligent sensors. Working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to meet project specifications is the key focus for all our design and management activities The main duties of the role: Produce electrical schematic drawings for the control system using AutoCAD Electrical drawing package. Produce control panel general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD Electrical drawing packages. Generate electrical cable block diagrams and cable schedules for the electrical equipment to be installed. Produce electrical cabling sizing calculations to determine size and number of cores for cables to be installed. Generate cable containment drawings for the electrical equipment to be installed. Working with mechanical resource, ensure the electrical equipment is integrated into the overall design of the lifting equipment /moving structures. Produce Technical Documentation in line with contract requirements You should have Experience in the hardware design of electrical control systems Ability to generate electrical schematic and GA drawings using AutoCad Electrical package. Knowledge of Variable Speed Drive’s and 17 Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations A full UK driving licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices/sites may be required.
