IT Field Engineer / Southend-on-Sea / £25,801 Your new company Southend Borough Council is a unitary authority based in the heart of the town centre offering traditional seaside living that makes it a great place to live and work. The Council are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and innovative IT Field Engineer to form the wider part of the Infrastructure and Operations department. Your new role As an IT Field Engineer, you will hold a post within the IT Infrastructure and Operations department. Using a combination of remote access tools to provide hardware and software support, you will be carrying out installations and decommissions. Your responsibilities will include managing customer relationships and providing technical support to Council customers including other Council sites, Schools, Libraries and Traded Services. Your day to day will find you investigating root causes to problems in systems, processes and services. You will be a technical lead for site-based issues, ensuring all incidents and requests are managed in a professional and timely manner in line with the Council's agreed SLAs. What you'll need to succeed Your previous experience as an IT Field Engineer coupled with your expert knowledge on Windows desktop and server operating systems will put you in prime position to carry out your role successfully. You will be proficient in hardware and virtualisation, able to troubleshoot LAN and support network firewalls unaided. Clear written and verbal communication skills along with a willingness to travel will be a great advantage to you within this role.
