They now require an experienced Carpenter to join their team to support their work in their specialist area. The main role of the Carpenter is to build cabinets, vanities, tub and shower surrounds, frame room additions as needed, install cabinets, counters and moulding and follow all code requirements for kitchen and bathroom remodelling. Key Tasks: Ordering of building materials as required Create materials that fit the client’s expectations Assemble sturdy and well-constructed furniture, cabinetry, shelving, frames, skirting boards etc. Measure building materials and spaces for installation accurately Incorporate fixtures such as door handles and locks, cabinet handles and other fixtures into design and implementation Combine carpentry work with joining work Use of power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal and other materials Ability to asses the quality of woodwork and materials Make and measure fitted and free-standing furniture Build temporary wooden supports for shuttering Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work unsupervised Self-motivated An appreciation of customer service Organised Meticulous attention to detail Teamwork with the ability to work well with others Numerical Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Essential: City & Guilds Level 2 minimum Understanding drawings, plans and instructions Craftsmanship Metalworking Design and Installation Joinery Power tools Excellent knowledge of materials especially wood and metal Machine and hand woodworking Project management Health and safety awareness UK Driving licence
