During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been focussing on essential and emergency works only to ensure the safety of both our colleagues and customers. As we look to move forward, and as part of our recovery programme, we are looking to increase our staffing capacity on a fixed term basis to enable us to complete the backlog of non-emergency responsive repairs with effect from September 2020. We are therefore looking to recruit Multi-skilled Carpenters on a 7 month fixed term contract to support with this project. Why work with us? About the role: As part of our recovery plan, we are looking for experienced carpenters to support the repairs team to help clear a backlog of works. You will primarily be responsible for carrying out reactive & routine carpentry repairs, installation and maintenance of fixtures, fitments and fittings in residents' homes and elsewhere and delivery of exceptional customer service. You will have exceptional carpentry skills, however, will ideally also have additional trade skills such as plumbing and masonry to support the team in an multi-disciplined role. Your knowledge of the building trade will ideally be vast, and you will be used to completing tasks to a high standard. You will be used to using your initiative to find quick and timely solutions and have excellent customer service skills whilst working to set timescales. You will be confident and capable of: * fitting kitchens * windows and internal doors (including fire doors) * skirting, architrave and boxing * carrying out repairs in occupied properties * lock replacements You will ensure that all work is completed to a high standard in accordance with health and safety legislation and safe working practices. You will be working to a schedule of works and will be expected to provide regular updates on progress to your Supervisor. About You: The successful candidate will hold a relevant maintenance qualification and previous experience of working in a maintenance/construction environment. As a vital member of the team, you will be passionate and motivated to consistently deliver a high-quality service, demonstrate flexibility and be able to prioritise workloads to deliver an efficient service.
