Overview

Transformation AMS Manager - This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Application Management Systems Manager to become an integral part of the Digital Policing Department within the Metropolitan Police, ensuring the best balance of quality, risk and value for money through oversight, challenge, guidance and decision authority to suppliers. You will benefit from a generous annual leave package, Civil Service pension, brand discounts, flexible working and more Role Overview As Transformation AMS Manager, you will act as a bridge between suppliers and business users, providing an MPS point of contact to maintain existing services and define future application and service strategies. You will be tasked with maintaining and developing application lifecycles, authoring and supporting the creation of business cases, and helping to improve the stability and reliability of the applications portfolio, improving its effectiveness for police staff and officers. Reporting to the Director of Application Management and End User Services, you will proactively identify solutions for strategic service risks and issues. You will be relied upon to commission reviews and proposals to address new requirements and opportunities, review supplier recommendations and challenge them to optimise business benefit and value for money. Role Requirements The successful Transformation AMS Manager will be a commercially and technically astute problem solver with a strong understanding of financial and commercial models. You will have experience working within a public sector environment as well as a multi-supplier outsourced environment, ideally based on a SIAM / Towers model or similar. Naturally, you will have excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills including collaboration, negotiation, facilitation and the ability to successfully influence others. You will also require a working knowledge of the applications and services and the operational impact of non-availability as well as an understanding of application security implications and wider technology touchpoints.
