Overview

The Materials Planner is required to manage and maintain stock control of all raw materials and critical packaging used on site to meet production requirements. Be responsible for the ordering of all raw materials and critical packaging used in the production of leaflets along with the maintenance of stock levels on site to meet immediate requirements. Key Responsibilities : Ordering Raw materials from Mill/Supplier. Finished goods stock inventory management maximum & minimum stock level management Obsolescence and stock accuracy ( target 99%) system data maintenance Maintaining inventory by identifying site requirements for all critical raw materials and packaging. Creating labelling requirements from the M.I.S system for paper identification purposes; recording location of inventory. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Maintains in-process inventory levels of all critical production materials . Dealing with offsite stock control calling in as and when required. Document materials and supplies by recording units delivered and location of units. Verifying material supplies code/batch number and quantity; placing materials in stock. Prepares future stock requirement from Mill/Supplier by identifying future requirements ie analysing trends. Contributes to team/planning as needed ensuring material levels are maintained at all times. Fully supporting the planning team. Involvement in standards improvements and progression with the customer services manager. Build and maintain excellent product knowledge Skills, qualifications and/or experience: Good level of Microsoft outlook, word and excel. Developing and maintaining knowledge in leaflet manufacture. Assisting planning dept. in releasing batches to production. Assisting in invoicing functions. Time served experience of inventory/stock control within a production environment. Data entry experience preferably with a Print / technical background Stock control, ordering raw materials and maintenance via a M.I.S system. Good all round knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Good team working ethic. Organisational and scheduling skills along with being able to analysis complex information. Commercial astute.
