This role carries a high-level of accountability for qualitative and timely software delivery with a requirement to technically lead, review, direct, motivate, coach, mentor and inspire a team of Application and Data Developers. In addition to the technical aspects, the role will include advising upon training plans, welfare and monitoring, undertaking initiatives for improving individual team members’ professional and personal development as well as increasing the overall collective capability of the team. For the successful applicant, this is an opportunity to instil new, diverse and creative ways of working to ensure the development function is equipped to be as innovative, efficient and effective as possible. You will be able to demonstrate the following within a professional environment: High Level solution/component design in accordance with technical architectures and agreed national/internal standards that are capable of meeting defined business needs and objectives. Leads on the planning and preparation of coherent detailed development, acceptance and implementation plans covering all aspects of technical work. Managing staff in a matrix structure, mentoring and influencing the technical teams to ensure all necessary peer reviews and development standards are applied. Proficiency of managing the overall solutioning process, ensuring effective risk management and quality assurance and enterprise fit is maintained.
