Solution Specialist in Networking – Nottingham - £65,000 Core Role The Solution Specialist will be responsible for completing technical projects assigned for Consultancy, Design, Installation and support for customers. This is a customer-facing role within a challenging environment, there can be extensive travel required to and from customer sites with a requirement to stay overnight depending on location and project size. This position requires working as part of a team or alone primarily responsible for completing tasks within agreed timescales. Typical technologies and skills required: Networking technologies primarily from Cisco and HPE Minimum Cisco CCNA certified but Ideally Cisco CCNP certified in either R&S or wireless (or both) Experience in Cisco SDA and ISE is desired. Experience with design and implementation of HPE Aruba technologies R&S and wireless Security experience will be a distinct advantage. Additionally :- Server, client, and infrastructure solutions primarily Microsoft, using Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V / Vmware). You will require experience with Microsoft Windows 2012/2016, Active Directory, O365, SCCM, MDT, Win10 Gold Build and all round server and client installation and support skills. A good knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V The role is a customer facing one; engineer will need to go through SC / EDBS clearance. ECS H&S will also be required for new build sites. Good working knowledge with Cisco Routers, Firewalls and HPE / Aruba Switching, Other top or rack switches such as HP Mellanox. A highly technical role with exposure to new technologies and solutions. The successful candidate would typically have additional experience or qualifications across the following. MCSE certified with commercial experience of the above installations. Other qualifications would be advantageous such as Hyper-V, VMware VCP, Microsoft technologies, Networking (Cisco / Aruba), Storage (HPE MSA) Key Tasks and Responsibilities Visit customers on site UK wide to carry-out consultancy, installations & support Be able to carry out consultancy in preparation to put a hardware kit list (BOM) together Design be-spoke Solutions, carry-out POC for design approval. Pre-delivery configuration and testing Receive fault reports, diagnose and provide solutions quickly Evaluate new products when requested Produce report on every visit detailing work done, outstanding work and issues to projects team. Acquire customer sign off for all completed project. Assist Technical Support & Sales with queries and problems when necessary Assist and Develop junior engineers to work more efficiently Maintain current knowledge of hardware and software and a detailed knowledge of the Product range Performance Targets To complete tasks by efficiently and to target timescales To ensure that all procedures and checks are followed Keep your line managers and the Projects Support Office informed of any delays or problems that affect your performance on projects Strive to improve the efficiency of the department by reviewing and improving the current procedures and providing recommendations / feedback This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89462244
