Job Description Refinitiv is a global multibillion dollars information technology enterprise which provides critical corporate data across the finance and corporate sectors. Within the technology function at Refintiv Technology Operations manage the continuous delivery and availability and evolution of Refinitiv internal and customer facing applications and underlying infrastructure. These services process billions of updates per day, millions of web and API requests from and to hundreds of thousands of financial terminals, tens of thousands of data feeds, and numerous platforms. Technology Operations guarantees the application setup, deployment, service availability and support for Refinitiv. Technology Operations also manages the underlying network, storage, middleware and and platform infrastructure and it also ensures that our vendors and service providers deliver in line with our business expectations. It supports thousands of services running from more than 60, 000 servers, storing 60,000 Terabytes of data and handles 79 billion market messages per day - critical information which must always be available to our customers. To support our business strategy in more agile and effective ways we are moving to a platform strategy supported by virtual technology. Our Operations need to evolve to operate at scale a business-critical platform hosted in virtualized data centers and cloud environments. We are moving to a lean enterprise DevOps model embracing the cloud and other data center software driven opportunities supported by strong standard and processes. The Infrastructure Networks team will be the heart of our product technology operation, focal point for high severity outages, practical technology guidance, lifecycle guidance and operational assurance and the whole SDLC. It will drive sustainable improvement back to our Product, Quality, and Service Design and engineering partners, and work with our third party scaled partners to implement and operate our product technology estate. Job Description Director, Infrastructure Networks will be responsible for the rapid reduction of "on-prem" data center footprint, increasing virtualization, strengthening hybrid ecosystem and accelerating our journey to the public cloud. This role combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale massively distributed, fault-tolerant networks. We set the engineering approaches for running better production systems and build our own creative engineering solutions to operations problems. We contribute to the availability of services, their security and regulatory compliance, and the customer experience associated with their domain. We also assure the reliable, agile and continuous flow of change required to optimize the performance of our ecosystem and focus on our customer needs and expectations. Core Responsibilities (40%) Release engineering mindset engaged in the entire SDLC improving the whole service life cycle ensuring reliability sustainability and securely Oversee the design, engineering and automation encompassing security, reliability and scale Design our processes and systems to scale sustainably through tools, automation and best reliability practices Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews. Effective management incident response, management, and blameless postmortems, and mitigation Build and drive a culture innovation and out-of-the-box thinking and doing Lead, coach and mentor the organization with practical examples, hands-on workshops, trainings and demonstrations Leadership, Management & Communication (40%) 7 years of experience managing availability of business-critical services in a large-scale technology environment involving multiples multi-layer systems and teams. 3-5 years of experience leading for large culturally diverse group of technology professionals 3-5 years of experience working across engineering, business, capability leaders gaining sponsorship with business and technology leadership and managing expectations 3-5 years of experience with crisis-resolution with vendors, customers and senior leaders and rebuilding trust with the business and stakeholders 5-7 years of experience managing and balancing competing business and technology risks and business initiatives and requirements across a team Proven ability to balance his personal focus and the organization outcome between immediate service priorities, service and automation improvement and strategic transformation 1-3 years of experience driving large scale continuous technology improvement and organizational transformation effectively Has experience of customer engagement with significant commercial and relationship at stake, in a crisis context, in a pre-sale context. 5-7 years of experience with traditional infrastructures, virtualized and cloud environment and the associated implication for applications and processes. 5-7 years of experience managing and collaborating in an organization balanced across three regions. 5-7 years of experience with ITIL process Education & Knowledge Technical and/or business degree or equivalent with computer science/IT experience/knowledge. Good understanding of financial services industry and products including Refinitiv markets. Firm understanding of IT infrastructure and the core function and process to operate and run Required Technical Skills / Experience (20%) On-prem data center infrastructure and services and vendor management IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Public Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) Excellent core networking understanding Knowledge of core Database, Storage, Networking, Compute technologies / services solutions "on prem" and in the cloud Experience driving automation projects Cyber security fundamentals and working knowledge Knowledge of testing frameworks (Selenium, TestRail etc) Knowledge of application security tools like Veracode, SonarQube, etc Excellent communications an and interpersonal skills About Refinitiv The Financial and Risk Business of Thomson Reuters is now Refinitiv.
