Main purpose T o provide the business with strategic input into engineering solutions on all sites as well as the management and coordination of all technical and engineering information relating to the running of a number of live residential developments, from the planning stage through to completion. The role will require close liaison with all departments across the business but particularly with the Land team during the land acquisition stage in managing the technical and engineering due diligence process and establishing the engineering principles for the site. The role requires the production of accurate value engineered information delivered in line with agreed programmes and budgets. Key Performance Indicators Main duties · Programming resources either externally or internally to meet business plan objectives. · Supporting the Head of Technical with the due diligence review and delivery of technical and engineering information required for land appraisals and acquisition. · Strategic input into the engineering solutions on all sites. · Supporting the Planning Manager with the technical and engineering design information required to accompany planning applications. · Coordination of external consultants in the production of technical and engineering details and drawings required for the effective delivery the residential schemes, from planning through to completion. · Procuring full Technical Approvals for all engineering details, including the adoptable roads & sewers. · Negotiating and obtaining S38, 104, & 278 Approvals and Agreements. · Responsibility for Building Control and NHBC approvals and the management of condition discharge. · Responsibility for the clearance of Planning Conditions. · Procurement of all incoming mains service designs, diversions and details. · Preparation of the full technical and engineering release packs for tender purposes. · Preparation of full Production & Sales release packs upon commencement of developments. · To ensure the delivery of information in line with agreed programmes and budgets. · To assist in implementing departmental objectives and procedures · Provide support and accurate technical and engineering information for all internal departments, including Land, Commercial, Production, Sales & Customer Services in line with any company goals and programmes. · Check and review all technical and engineering details and reports for accuracy and completeness · Coordination of the Development Health & Safety information and delivery by external consultants · Evaluation of changing regulatory standards and product information to ensure effective and cost effective delivery of the residential schemes. · Attend all requisite external and internal meetings, including regular development progress meetings. Person specification Essential Desirable Education, training or qualifications · HND/Degree in Building Studies/Construction/ Engineering or equivalent · Good level of IT literacy with experience of AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel & Word · Experience of technical and engineering aspects of house building design · A good understanding of Highway & Sewer Standards · Construction Design & Management Regulations Relevant experience · Proven ability of delivering design for projects on time, to budget and quality standards with high customer satisfaction results. · Commercially aware. · Excellent time management with ability to multi task. · Professional aptitude and appearance at all times. · Ability to make decisions within authority. · Able to lead and work as a team member. · Strives for continuous improvement for the benefit of the company. · Experienced in analysing problems and delivering solutions Special skills or knowledge Interpersonal skills and attitude Special Circumstances This person specification is not a definitive statement.
