" Role Profile Typical Deliverables \t * Manage design engineering teams to ensure delivery to programme \t * Ensure production of detailed active and passive design packs including detail of cable routes cable allocation, cabinet locations and fibre allocation, active equipment design and configuration details. \t * Provide guidance and support to designer engineers building relationships with key stakeholders. \t * Manage the resource levels within the team to ensure costs are within budget. \t * Ensure BOMs are produced and standardised where possible against design packs. \t * Escalate risks and issues that may affect delivery of HPC project or impact on Interfacing Organisations; \t * Ensure consistency in standards and processes across all projects \t * Report delays and changes to workstreams to ensure resource is accurately forecast \t * Provides information to enable the compilation of monthly performance and progress report for all workstreams around responsibility \t * Identify equipment forecast (inventory and non-inventory) to ensure continuity of supply \t * Identify designs that will enable the implementation of good nuclear safety and quality practices \t * Identify initiatives within the organisation to continually improve the operations performance, the quality of delivery, and our focus on nuclear safety and quality practices in the environment we work Key Responsibilities As part of the leadership team develop a culture based on nuclear safety and quality, acting as a role model for the internal team and all interfaces associated with the HPC project. Responsible for managing a team of design engineers to deliver telecommunications solutions within a nuclear environment. This is a multi-disciplined role and will include the management and coordination of engineering teams undertaking the production of: \t * Installation Design \t * System Engineering \t * Electrical Design \t * Production of CAD drawings \t * Equipment Qualification \t * Proof of Concept Engineering \t * Manage resource levels to support production, review and timely delivery for the engineering of the project. \t * Liaise with design engineers to identify system requirements and ensure robust engineering processes are in place to deliver solutions against the agreed requirements \t * Ensure client requirements and regulatory standards are fully managed are understood and reflected in designs; \t * Ensure that all designs are produced in line with statutory compliance regulations and procedures and promote best practice and continuous improvement in nuclear safety and quality. \t * Monitor and audit to ensure "As-built" documentation is updated for all completed installations and is at the appropriate maturity level for the Health and Safety file. \t * Work with the Project Management teams to develop and manage the programme forecast and ensure the resource demands are met. \t * Ensure all documentation is issued to the delivery teams to ensure site documentation reflects accurate requirements; \t * Monitor review and improve processes to identify efficiencies within the delivery model and installation standards. \t * Provide technical support to the whole HPC team \t * Ensuring that all project Plant and Materials are identified and documented in the design and the CMDB \t * Ensure the design team provide support to the QS and engineering team in compilation of accurate Bill of Materials and costings for financial profiling. \t * Ensures accuracy and integrity of network related configuration data to support seamless handover to maintenance. \t * Identify areas for innovation and continuous improvement. Essential Skills \t * Knowledge of CDM 2015 Requirements \t * Excellent problem solver. \t * Commercial and financial awareness applied to design management \t * Chartered Engineer status or working towards this preferable \t * SC Clearance Desirable Skills \t * Demonstrable success leading design function in a safety or mission critical environment \t * Knowledge of working in a highly regulated and safety critical environment, such as nuclear \t * Ability to work in a cross functional / matrix environment \t * Excellent team working skills \t * Strong man management skills \t * Collaborative approach to working internally and with other stakeholders \t * Ability to work under pressure \t * Financial and commercial awareness \t * Working Knowledge of Nuclear Safety legislation and how this is applied, monitored and improved within a safety critical or mission critical environment \t * Experience in IT solutions and / or IP networks.
